Basin Transit and the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi-Desert are helping kids and parents get prepared for the new school year with their “Pack the Bus” School Supply Drive – happening all day today at the Walmart Parking Lot in Yucca Valley.
Donations can include a range of supplies: they are looking for backpacks, crayons, markers, pencils, notebooks, binders, erasers rules and glue – all items should be new and unused.
Members of Basin Transit and the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi Desert will be there to help receive donations and Pack that Bus.
Once the supplies are collected – the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi Desert will be hosting an open house and School Supply Giveaway on August 14th, from 4pm to 7pm. This Open House will be open to all families in the morongo basin and they will be giving away backpacks with school supplies for all school aged children.
There will also be hair stylists from the community to provide free haircuts for kids ages 5 to 18. The free school supplies will be given out while supplies last, and haircuts will be on a first-come, first serve basis.
You can drop off school supplies at the Pack the Bus event all day today – from 7am to 8pm at the Yucca Valley Walmart Parking Lot right off highway 62.
