The owner of a Yucca Valley consignment car dealership was arrested Monday, accused of embezzling money from his customers. According to Sheriff’s Detective Corey Emon, several customers complained that they consigned vehicles to, or bought vehicles from, Dale Armstrong, of Armstrong Auto Sales, and never received either the money from the sale or the title to the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Department began a months-long investigation July 7, 2014, of Armstrong Auto Sales, located at 56397 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley, after receiving a complaint. On February 23, the District Attorney’s office filed charges of embezzlement and elder abuse against Dale Armstrong, 55, of Joshua Tree. On Monday, Dale Armstrong was arrested on suspicion of five counts of embezzlement and two counts of elder abuse. Detective Emon suspects there may be more victims; if anyone has experienced issues with Armstrong’s Auto Sales regarding the consignment or purchase of a vehicle, to call him at the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
