A Yucca Valley family was forced to find a new home for the night after a fire damaged a bedroom Monday evening. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle, the residents of a home in the 58400 block of Desert Gold Drive came home about 7:20 p.m. and found the house filled with smoke and called 911. Firefighters from Yucca Valley and Yucca Mesa responded and quickly knocked down the blaze, which was contained to a bedroom and contents. Tuttle said the cause of the fire was electrical in nature due to an overloaded circuit. He estimated the damage to the home and contents at $20,000.
