Our state representatives are moving up the state pecking order. Yesterday, the Republican Caucus announced it has selected Assemblyman Chad Mayes of Yucca Valley to be its next leader. Mayes will take over from current Republican Leader Kristin Olsen in January. Mayes, a former council member and mayor of Yucca Valley, was elected to the California Assembly last November. On Thursday, Senator Jean Fuller was tapped to take over the role of the Senate Republican Leader, months earlier than expected. First elected in 2006, Senator Fuller represents the 16th Senate District, which includes our Morongo Basin.
