For 21 years, Gublers Orchids in Landers have opened their greenhouses to the public as a fund-raising event for charities. This year’s Orchid Fest, set for October 1 and 2, features a pancake breakfast and balloon rides on Saturday, and greenhouse tours, orchid classes, food, wine tasting, live music, community non-profit organizations and vendor booths on both days. Official hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Saturday, hot air balloon rides will be offered from 7 to 10 a.m., as well as a pancake breakfast. The festival will be held at the Gubler Orchids, 2200 Belfield Boulevard in Landers.
