Night sky fans are in for a treat this evening when the International Space Station will fly over our Morongo Basin tonight, and barring cloud cover or rain, it will be visible to the naked eye for about six minutes. Roughly the size of a football field and flying at 15 miles per second, the station will appear as a very bright light coming from the north west at 8:27 p.m. and disappearing to the south east at around 8:33 p.m. If you miss tonight’s flyover, don’t worry, there will be two more excellent opportunities to see the Earth’s second largest satellite with flyovers tomorrow (August 5) and Friday (August 6).
