The Art Queen East Village Gallery in Joshua Tree will hold an opening reception during the Second Saturday Art Crawl tonight, February 8. Austin Hart is a painter and graphic designer from Morongo Valley. In his new series, “The White Rooms,” he explores different characters who find themselves through semi-fictional situations and techniques. The reception is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will include live music and refreshments. The Art Queen East Village Gallery is located at 61855 29 Palms Highway in downtown Joshua Tree.
An opening reception for a new show at Gallery 62 in downtown Joshua Tree is set for tonight, February 8. The show features seven artists from Wonder Valley and the east end of the Morongo Basin: Adrian Field, Suzanne Ross, Ron Resnick, Olive Toscani, Tal Khaner, Electra Westman, and Sharon Morgan Jenkins. The artworks include abstract and figurative painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, collage, assemblage, jewelry, and more. Reception hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tonight, February 8. Gallery 62 is open Fridays from noon to 3 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.
The Yucca Valley Visual and Performing Arts Center will hold an opening reception for its new show featuring local artists tonight, February 8. “Mojave Madness” will feature 40 artists—including painters, sculptors, photographers, and collage—from the entire Mojave Desert. The opening reception is set for 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery, 58325 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. Regular gallery hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
