The Hwy 62 Open Studio Art Tours, featuring 206 artists at 126 locations in the Morongo Basin, is the first three weekends in October, but the opening reception for the artists’ collective show is this Saturday, September 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. For the first time, the artists participating in the open studio art tours will have their work on display at two galleries in downtown Joshua Tree: Gallery 62, and the Joshua Tree Art Gallery, or JTAG.
The reception is free and includes refreshments, music, and prizes to artists by local sponsors. Catalogs for the studio tours will be available. The collective art show runs through October 27. A second artists’ reception is set for Saturday, October 12, during the Second Saturday art crawl, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Open Studio Art Tours Director Bill Green will be on the Up Close Show today, at 10 a.m. Call in with your questions about the art tours.
