The Joshua Tree Highlands artist in residency program will hold an open studio on Sunday, August 4, with Erin Currier of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Currier says she is using recycled materials in her art to use materials that are close at hand, transfiguring trash into something of beauty, and as a socio-political act that shows what people value, consume, and throw away. The open studio is set for 4 to 6 p.m. at 8321 Via Rocosa Road in Joshua Tree.
