“Sylvia” is a smart, silly, sophisticated, and occasionally salty comedy about relationships, nature, and growing older. Open auditions are set for 6 p.m. tonight at Theatre 29. All roles are available. The character of Sylvia is a dog, a cute, bouncy “labradoodle;” she should be 18 to 28-years-old. Her new owner Greg is pleasant and attractive, age 40 to 50. Greg’s wife, Kate, is a teacher in her 40’s to 50’s. A trio of roles may be played by one actor or Director Eddie Tucker may split these roles among two or three men or woman. The trio includes Tom, a regular, dog-loving guy; Phyllis a hotshot Manhattanite and Leslie a psychotherapist whose gender is open to question. Auditions will consist of cold reading, scripts will be provided.
