An Ontario man was arrested Sunday in Joshua Tree after he was found with methamphetamine. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Tope, 26, was visiting family in the 61800 block of Clearview Road when he started arguing and pushing family members, who then called deputies. Tope locked himself in a room, and when he emerged, he was combative with deputies, who finally managed to handcuff him. A search of Tope found a large bag of methamphetamine and a meth pipe in his front pocket. Deputies also determined that Tope was wanted on a warrant for driving under the influence. Michael Tope was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and on his warrant was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $50,000.
