As people age, they often experience memory problems, unable to remember names of friends or objects. They joke they can remember what happened 40 years ago but can’t remember what they had for breakfast that morning. The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America has a simple online memory test that tests memory and other thinking skills. It’s not used to diagnose any particular illness and does not replace consultation with a doctor. Memory tests are a first step toward finding out if a person may have a memory problem, which can be caused by many medical conditions including vitamin deficiencies, thyroid issues, depression, as well as dementia.
