A man was hospitalized after a traffic accident in Morongo Valley Sunday (May 30). According to Morongo Valley Fire Engineer Agustine Noriega, the driver of a stolen vehicle drove off of 29 Palms Highway into the desert near the intersection of Sundown Trail in Morongo Valley before veering back onto westbound shoulder and running into a wooden fence. A piece of the fence pierced the windshield of the vehicle. When firefighters arrived, the 55-year-old victim, who had received traumatic injuries from the accident, had pulled himself out of the vehicle. He was transported by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Regional for treatment.
