The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has been awarded a more than $1 million state grant to support road safety, and the Department hopes to reduce traffic injuries and death substantially in the coming year.
Provided by the state’s Office of Traffic Safety, the $1,110,000 grant will support ongoing traffic safety enforcement and education programs, along with funding additional DUI checkpoints, officer training, and greater collaboration with neighboring agencies.
The grant will fund these and more County Sheriff’s Department programs through September 24.
