One person was killed in a Landers house fire the morning of Monday, June 13. San Bernardino County Fire responded to multiple 911 callers reporting a structure fire in Landers. First arriving crews found a single-family
dwelling fully aflame with fire being pushed by winds. Firefighters initiated a defensive fire attack, working to suppress the fire and keep it from spreading to downed power lines that were arcing, causing a potential hazard for firefighters on-scene. After the fire was knocked down, crews were able to search the house and found one deceased person inside the home. The fire was knocked down in approximately 30 minutes. The name of the person killed is being withheld
pending notification of family. There were no injuries to fire department personnel. The cause is under investigation by San Bernardino County Fire and San Bernardino County Sheriff.
