ONE INJURY IN ROLLOVER CRASH ON LEAR AVENUE

A man suffered moderate injuries yesterday when his truck rolled over following a collision in Twentynine Palms. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost, a 2015 Chevy Silverado and a 1998 Nissan Frontier pick-up truck—registered to Steven Finley of Joshua Tree—were both traveling northbound on Lear Avenue about 3:40 p.m. Yost said when the Nissan attempted to pass the Silverado at Two Mile Road, it clipped the Chevy’s front end, causing the Nissan to spin out and flip over on to its roof, blocking the southbound lanes of Lear Avenue. The driver of the Nissan truck received moderate injuries to his left arm from the crash; he was able to get out of the truck with help from corpsmen from the Combat Center who were passing by. The Nissan driver was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs as a precaution. The driver and passenger in the Silverado were not injured in the crash.
