A Lake Elsinore man was arrested late Friday night (September 3) accused DUI causing bodily injury in Twentynine Palms. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies were called to the 72100 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms for a report of a traffic collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The victim on the motorcycle was transported to Hi Desert Medical Center and later airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. Deputies determined the driver of the pickup truck, Ovido Maldonado, 50, of Lake Elsinore, was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Ovido Maldonado was arrested for investigation of DUI causing bodily injury, was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and was later released on $100,000 bail.
