ONE HOSPITALIZED AFTER HOUSE FIRE IN YUCCA VALLEY LAST NIGHT

A resident was hospitalized with smoke inhalation following a fire in Yucca Valley last night. Fire officials say that about 11:30, a neighbor called to report smoke and flames coming from the rear of a home in the 8500 block of San Vincente. Yucca Valley fire fighters, along with fire fighters from Joshua Tree and Yucca Mesa and CalFire, started an interior attack on the blaze and confined the fire to the bedroom in the rear of the house. One resident was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center with smoke inhalation, but is expected to make a full recovery. Damage is estimated at $20,000 to $30,000.
