At least one person was critically injured in an early-morning crash today. County Fire Battalion Chief Donnie Viloria said firefighters were called to a two-vehicle crash at Utah Trail and Highway 62 about 5:45 a.m. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate a woman in one of the vehicles; she was taken to a nearby landing zone where a helicopter flew her to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
