ONE ARRESTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE FIRE IN YUCCA VALLEY

A Yucca Valley man who was driving his pick up truck off road in Yucca Valley was arrested for driving under the influence after his truck got stuck and caught on fire. According to investigators, fire fighters were called to a wash near Amador Avenue and Hidden Gold Drive about 4:20 p.m. Monday for a vehicle fire. The driver, Ronald Steiner, 57, had gotten his truck stuck in the sand amongst vegetation in a wash, and the engine overheated and started on fire. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the truck and keep it from spreading into the nearby vegetation. After an investigation, deputies arrested Ronald Steiner for driving under the influence. He was cited and released at the Morongo Basin Jail.
