One suspect has been arrested, and deputies are searching for three others, in a home invasion robbery in Twentynine Palms in October. Just before midnight on October 17, four armed men forced their way into a home in the 74000 block of Casita Drive. The suspects struggled with two of the residents, and a resident fired a handgun at the suspects in self-defense, but it’s unknown if any suspects were hit by gunfire. The suspects were able to steal multiple items before fleeing the home. Detectives identified one of the suspects as Javonte Montague, 21, a lance corporal with 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment on board the Combat Center in Twentynine Palms. On Monday, November 4, detectives detained Montague on board the Marine base. Javonte Montague was arrested for investigation of robbery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000. Anyone with information about the three other suspects is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
