ONE ARREST, TWO PENDING, AFTER RECOVERY OF STOLEN CAR IN JOSHUA TREE

One man was arrested, and two others are under investigation, after they were found to be in possession of a stolen car. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 3:30 a.m. Friday, a man saw his stolen Honda parked in an apartment complex in the 64800 block of Chollita Road in Joshua Tree. His vehicle had been stripped. Deputies contacted Mitchell Brethen, 32, who said he had purchased the vehicle a few days before and was using the parts to fix his own car. Mitchell Brethen was arrested for investigation of being in possession of stolen property, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000. Information on two other men is being sent to the District Attorney’s office to determine if they should be charged as well.
