One man was arrested, and deputies are searching for others, in a raid on an illegal marijuana grow in Yucca Valley Thursday. About 10:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to the 3500 block of Warren Vista Avenue for a report of a downed power line at the home. Firefighters determined the home was most likely a marijuana grow house and the power line failed because of power overload due to the marijuana growing equipment being used inside the house. The Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant at the home and found more than 400 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, inside the home. The illegal grow used advanced lighting, air conditioners, fans, exhaust blowers, and an air-filtering system. Deputies determined the grow was not in compliance with California medical marijuana laws and local ordinances. A suspect, Thomas Gorman, 21, of Yucca Valley, was at the home and was arrested for investigation of cultivating marijuana. Thomas Gorman was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $5,000. Investigators are identifying additional suspects and will forward their names to the district attorney’s office for review.
