A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Saturday after an afternoon stabbing. A Sheriff’s press release said at around 12:53 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at the Mohawk Apartment complex in the 6900 block of Mohawk Trail. Arriving deputies observed Catessy Truitt, 40, standing near the victim who was bleeding from unknown injuries. During the investigation, deputies learned that Truitt stabbed the victim in the hand with a kitchen knife because she was upset the victim did not share his COVID-19 stimulus check with her. The victim was treated by medical staff and released on scene. Truitt was arrested for investigation of Assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.
