ONE ARREST AFTER A MONDAY AFTERNOON FIRE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

We have more information about an arson fire we reported on Tuesday. A Twentynine Palms transient was arrested Monday, suspected of setting the fire. Firefighters were called to the 73600 block of Calle Todd Lane in Twentynine Palms just before 6 p.m. where they found an abandoned double-wide mobile home fully involved in flames. The home had no utilities at the site. After an investigation, deputies located John Kerr, 40, near Adobe Road and Indian Trail. John Kerr was arrested on suspicion of arson, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $500,000. This is the eighth suspicious fire in the Twentynine Palms/Wonder Valley area in five weeks, but it’s unclear if this arson or suspect are related to any of the other fires.
