OLYMPIC CHAMPION MOUNTAIN BIKER TO LEAD TWO RIDES LOCALLY

Two time Olympian cyclist Victor Vincente will be hosting two local bike rides in the Hi-Desert. The first is Saturday, March 16, a two-hour ride in Section 6. This is a difficult technical ride. Meet near the yellow gate on Onaga at 8:30 a.m. On Saturday, March 23, he will lead a 60-mile road ride in Joshua Tree National Park. Meet at Cap Rock parking lot in the park at 7:30 a.m. Victor Vicente is a former national champion road cyclist and is credited with being one of the early inventors of mountain biking. Victor Vicente is honored in both the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame and the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. These local rides are part of Vincente’s Year of the Outlaw Tour, honoring environmental clean-up efforts and his passion for cycling.
