Marking the 75th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps Women’s Reserve, and the 100th anniversary of women in the Marines, an historical exhibit at the Old Schoolhouse Museum honors these pioneers. Curated by Dana Bowden and Marilyn Fernald, the exhibit features uniforms, photographs and various memorabilia.
On display are women’s World War I and II uniforms from the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center’s collection, photographs of female Marines from several eras doing their jobs, and assorted memorabilia celebrating women’s service in the Corps.
The free exhibit will be on display through September 30 at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms. Hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday through August, and then 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday starting in September.
