The Twentynine Palms Historical Society invites visitors to ring in the season by checking out the annual holiday display at the Old Schoolhouse Museum. Edica Gonzales says this year’s display is designed around a musical theme…
The Old Schoolhouse’s annual holiday display is built on the theme of music and features an antique radio, a replica of a phonograph, a guitar, and a host of old Christmas records. All items have been donated by area residents. A tiny smoke tree decorated with spiced gumdrops offers a whimsical nod to how early desert dwellers decorated for the holidays.
The museum, located on National Park Drive across from the 29 Palms Inn, is open from 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
