The Old Schoolhouse Museum Lecture Series kicks off the 2018-2019 season with a fascinating guest on Friday, September 14. Julia Sizek will present her talk “When Women Seldom Traveled Alone: Botanist May Beal Wandered the California Deserts in Search of Rare Plants.” Presented by the Twentynine Palms Historical Society and The Desert Institute, the evening begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are $5 at the door. The Old Schoolhouse Museum is located at 6760 National Park Drive across from 29 Palms Inn.
