Virginia City, Nevada—the site of the Comstock Lode, and where author Mark Twain, the outlaw Sam Brown, and a host of other colorful characters lived and died—is the topic of the second Friday Old Schoolhouse lecture series Friday, February 10. Author, historian, and filmmaker Nicolas Clapp will regale the audience with stories of this old mining town at the turn of the 19th century. The lecture starts at 7 p.m. at the Old Schoolhouse Museum on National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms. Admission is $5.
