The Mojave Desert has a rich history of mining and ranching. The Old Schoolhouse lecture for Friday, will feature archeologist Bob Bryson, who is the current Chief of Resource Management at Mojave National Preserve. Bryson has inventoried and evaluated the significance of all the ranching artifacts, and is in the process of doing the same to the 1,700 historic mining features in the Mojave Preserve. The lecture is set for 7 p.m. at the Old Schoolhouse in Twentynine Palms. Admission is $5.
