It’s a busy weekend at Theatre 29. Come catch the final performances of the classic musical, “Oklahoma!” and enjoy the Baker’s Dozen improv comedy fundraiser for fellow thespian Les Taylor. Rebecca Havely shares how you can get your tickets to both…
This weekend enjoy a live musical and improv comedy, both at Theatre 29. The classic musical “Oklahoma!”—with nostalgic songs like “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” and “Surrey with the Fringe on Top”—has three more performances: this Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. and the closing matinee is Sunday at 2:30. This Saturday at 2:30, a special fundraiser performance by the Baker’s Dozen improv troupe will benefit Les Taylor’s family with their show entitled “Les Is More.” Theatre 29 veteran and radio personality Taylor was cast in “Oklahoma!” before his passing and he always appreciated a good laugh, so there’s no better way to honor his memory.
Tickets for “Oklahoma!” are $10 to $15, and the improv comedy tickets are $10, with those proceeds going to the Taylor family. Both are available at theatre29.org, or by calling the Theatre 29 box office at 760-361-4151.
