Octavious Scott Leads in Race for Twentynine Palms City Council Seat by Six Votes

UPDATE: As of 4:00 pm, November 18th, Scott is only ahead by 2 votes.

Octavious Scott, the challenger leading the race for Twentynine Palms’ single contested City Council seat, is leading the race by just six votes. According to the San Bernardino County Registrar’s November 17 election update, Scott’s lead over the incumbent Karmolette O’Gilvie, has narrowed to just six votes. Scott and O’Gilvie are vying to represent Twentynine Palms City Council District 4, and O’Gilvie is also serving a term as the city’s mayor.

As of the current count, Scott has 286 votes, which is 50.53% of the counted ballots, while O’Gilvie has 280, for 49.47% of the votes. San Bernardino County continues to count the ballots that were mailed in prior to the general election deadline of November 8, and the results of this election are not yet certified.
