OASIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLACED IN LOCKDOWN AFTER STUDENT BRINGS GUN

Oasis Elementary School was briefly placed into emergency lockdown this morning after a student brought a gun to the school. At approximately 10 a.m., Oasis Elementary administrators retrieved a backpack that contained an unloaded 9mm handgun. The school was immediately put into lockdown.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was notified and responded swiftly, working alongside school officials. The Sheriff’s department is now in possession of the unloaded weapon.

The lockdown lasted 20 minutes and all students and staff are safe. Following the lockdown, all activities have resumed and students will be released from school at their normal time. Alhtough the lockdown was lifted, the Sheriff Department’s investigation is ongoing.
