A local 5th grader has a great opportunity to learn about international cooperation in Europe. Managing Editor Tami Roleff says Pearl Burch is raising money for her trip…
Pearl Burch, a fifth-grader at Oasis Elementary School in Twentynine Palms, was selected to attend the People to People Student Ambassador Program as a student leader. During the two-week exchange program this summer, Pearl will travel to England and France, meet with government officials, interact with other students her own age, and participate in educational activities. Pearl’s trip is expensive, however; she needs to raise $7,000. Pearl has been holding an online Tupperware fundraiser, and has collected recyclables, knitting scarves, and helping at school and church for extra money. She plans to hold some car washes and bake sales, along with a bowl-a-thon. If you would like to help Pearl reach her goal with a donation, call 760-362-3964, or send a donation to the address in this story at kcdzfm.com
