The reigning topics of last Friday’s Z107.7 Up-Close Show were Measures “J” “K” and “U,” with guest Tom Murphy of the Red Brennan Group. The measures, which were on the November ballot, called for changes to the way the County of San Bernardino is governed. Of the measures, Measure “U” was defeated and Measure “J” passed, just barely, and Measure “K” passed with a supermajority. Tom Murphy: “So we’re not done yet”
Tom Murphy, the spokesman of the Red Brennan Group, joined the Z107.7 Up-Close Show with Gary Daigneault last Friday to discuss Measure’s “J” “K” and “U.”
Highlighted in the show was Measure “U,” which sought to repeal the controversial Fire Protection Service Zone Five (FP-5) fire tax due to claims that it violates the State’s Constitution. The measure failed to earn the required number of votes to accomplish the repeal of the tax in November.
But the fight to do away with FP-5 is far from over. Murphy announced that the Red Brennan Group plans to attempt to repeal FP-5, again.
Tom Murphy: “We’re disappointed but not discouraged… we’re gonna go out and gather signatures and put it on the ballot and do it again”
