During the four-day Desert Daze music festival held at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center last weekend, the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station received 39 noise complaints, with some of the complaints coming from the same person, who called multiple times. Deputies and county code enforcement officers, using decibel readers, determined that noise levels for all but one of the complaints were in compliance with the county’s noise ordinance. When the festival’s sound crew was notified they were out of compliance, they immediately corrected the issue. There were no arrests at the Desert Daze music festival.
