NO ARRESTS MADE IN SPECIAL HOLIDAY ORV PATROL

The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Department conducted off-highway vehicle enforcement last Friday and Saturday during the Thanksgiving Day weekend. Over the course of the two days, deputies contacted 250 people and responded to four calls for service, but made no arrests and issued no citations. They handed out pamphlets outlining rules for riding OHVs, educated riders on honoring private property, staying on authorized trails, wearing helmets, and not drinking and driving. The OHV enforcement team is funded solely by a grant and works in conjunction with county code enforcement and the Bureau of Land Management.
