Hospitals are desperately short on blood, and LifeStream will hold two community blood drives on Wednesday (March 3). One blood drive will be held at the Hi-Desert Star (56445 29 Palms Highway) in Yucca Valley, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the other drive will be at the Desert Trail (6396 Adobe Road), in Twentynine Palms from 10 to 3. Donors will receive incentives. In addition, LifeStream now offers donors free cholesterol screening with every blood donation. All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. All donors must wear a mask and submit to a COVID-19 screening.
