A town hall meeting has been scheduled for Newburry Springs community members to discuss opposing the placement of Sexually Violent Predator Lawtis Rhoden into a home in the area. Less than a month ago, a judge denied Rhoden’s placement into a home Twentynine Palms. Community members and local law enforcement will hold the town hall meeting at the Newburry Springs Community Park (30884 Newberry Road) Wednesday, August 4, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss options for protesting the proposal.
