NEW VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS

The State of California has introduced a new set of vaccination requirements for all California students returning to school in July. With a list of these new requirements is reporter Andrew Dieleman…

According to MUSD Superintendent Tom Baumgarten, the school district had a very high vaccination-compliance rate last year with 99 percent of students receiving all state-required vaccinations. To continue to ensure student safety this year, all California students must meet updated vaccination requirements. For kindergarten through 12th grade admissions; these requirements include four polio doses; five DTaP doses; three hepatitis B doses; two MMR doses; and two varicella (chicken pox) doses. Any student who has not met the requirements by July 1 will not be allowed to start school in August. For more information on the new vaccination requirements, visit www.shotsforschool.org.
