Several new laws go into effect in California on July 1. Prop 63, which California voters approved in 2016, requires background checks every time someone wants to purchase ammunition. A fee is also required for each transaction.
Also beginning July 1, California’s gas tax will increase by almost 6 cents per gallon.
And doctors will be required to tell their patients if they have been placed on probation for professional misconduct, such as drug abuse, criminal convictions, or sexual misconduct.
