Assembly Bill 685, which goes into law January 1, requires employers to provide a written notice to other employees within one day of an employee receiving a notice of potential exposure to COVID-19. Employers must also report any “outbreaks” of COVID-19 in its workforce to its local public health agency within 48 hours of the outbreak being identified. Immediately affected areas of the workplace that constitute an “imminent hazard to employees” may be closed by Cal-OSHA until deemed safe. For more information visit the link below.
