Outsider Art is in, as Joshua Tree’s Gallery 62 presents an offbeat, mind-bending art show, “Off Trail.” Managing editor Tami Roleff says the show fits right in with the Hi-Desert’s eccentric community…
Alternative views have always been a hallmark of the eccentric Hi-Desert community, and the new show at Gallery 62, “Off Trail” showcases some of its most eclectic ones: from mysterious and alluring assemblages to abstract mindscapes to monumental sculpture and other wild and often whimsical takes on the Mojave experience. The show features work by Kat Johnson, Robert Rootenberg, Cybele Rowe, James O’Keefe, Snake Jagger and Rik Livingston, The Artists LeFey, Grey and Khrysso. An opening reception is set for Saturday, March 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 at Gallery 62 in downtown Joshua Tree. The show will be on display through March. Gallery hours are Fridays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
