At tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting, the Commission will kick off with the oath of office for new Planning Commissioner Gerry Noonan, who was chosen to serve on the Commission last week by the Town Council. The Commission will also consider a variety of permits relating to Western Joshua Trees and native plants across Yucca Valley, including the encroachment within ten feet of 16 Joshua Trees and the transplanting of 48 Mojave Yuccas and 21 California Junipers. Also seeking permits are the removal of 28 Mojave Yucca clusters, 24 California Juniper clusters, and three dead/detached Western Joshua Trees or limbs. The Commission will also hear a request for approval for the preliminary landscape and lighting plans for Domino’s, located west of the northwest corner of Twentynine Palms Highway and Balsa Avenue, and consider the transplant of six Western Joshua Trees and the removal of two more Western Joshua Trees. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center or online. For information on virtually attending tonight’s meeting, see the information below.
