A new moon is coming this weekend, and a new moon ceremony is being held in Joshua Tree tomorrow night (September 1).
The Lou Harrison House in Joshua Tree is hosting a new moon ceremony with Kim Marcus, a Serrano-Cahuilla Elder. Marcus will be sharing origin stories with songs around an outdoor fire. After the new moon ceremony, a food offering will be provided.
The New Moon Ceremony is part of the Harrison House’s Native Voices Series, which will be held every Sunday in September. Marcus will offer a different workshop featuring native culture and practices each week.
The event runs tomorrow from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lou Harrison House in Joshua Tree. The event is free, but organizers ask that you register in advance at louharrisonhouse.org or call (760)366-4712
