The Joshua Tree Art Gallery, JTAG, will be opening one exhibit tonight Saturday and is putting out a call for their June show. “Desert Wild” opens Saturday, May 13, with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. “Desert Wild” is a group show which includes work by five artists new to the gallery: Ben Allanoff, Theodosia Merchant, Watson, Kat Johnson, and Mark Wagner. Local artists Marcia Geiger, Frederick Fulmer, Doug Dolde, Timothy Hearsum, and Tobi Taboada round out this desert centric show. The JTAG June Invitational, “The Drawing Show” will open June 10, with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. This is the gallery’s annual community show, which offers an opportunity for artists to submit work. The deadline for submission of work is Monday, May 15. Prospectus and applications are on the Joshua Tree Art Gallery website. Artists may also pick up applications at the gallery at 61607 29 Palms Hwy. Joshua Tree. Cash awards and people’s choice awards will be given out the night of the opening.
