The Joshua Tree Art Gallery’s new show presents two artists whose work challenges our perceptions of women. Managing editor Tami Roleff explains…
Cat Celebrezze and Nancy Floyd are the artists who are featured at the Joshua Tree Art Gallery in September. Celebrezze’s show, “Building a Better Baphomet,” is inspired by the pagan transgender god. Floyd’s show, “She’s Got a Gun,” features powerful, compelling images of Floyd’s research on the topic of women who use guns in three specific areas: for pleasure, self-defense, and in their professions. An opening reception is set for Saturday, September 8, during the Second Saturday Art Crawl. A closing reception will be held Sunday, September 30. Both are from 6 to 8 p.m. JTAG is located at 61607 Twentynine Palms Highway in downtown Joshua Tree.
The artists will discuss their art, inspiration, ideas, and their process of making art during an artists’ talk at JTAG on Sunday, September 9, at 1 p.m. Seating is limited.
Seating is limited; please RSVP to [email protected] or call 310-562-0511.
