A new exhibit is at Joshua Tree National Park’s visitor center, a retrospective of work produced in the park’s Artist-in-Residence program, includes paintings, watercolors, textile and pastel pieces created from 2002 to the present. A sampling of art work donated to the park by past participants in the Artist-in-Residence program is also included in the exhibit. The Artist-in-Residence program allows artists of all types—painters, dancers, videographers, writers, photographers, and musicians—to live in a secluded and “off the grid” area of the park for two to four weeks while they produce work inspired by the desert setting. The Joshua Tree Visitor’s Center is located on Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree, and is open 8 to 5.
