The Mojave Desert Land Trust has named Geary Hund to replace Joshua Friedes as its new executive director. Hund has been a member of the land trust’s board of directors for the past two years. His background includes working as a chief ranger and senior ecologist with the California State Parks; program director for the Wilderness Society; associate director of the Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy; and his most recent position, senior wildlife biologist for US Fish and Wildlife. Hund lives in Joshua Tree and serves on the board of directors for the Joshua Basin Water District. The Mojave Land Trust did not say why it’s previous executive director, Joshua Friedes, left the organization.
